Robotic Process automation is best defined as processers that mimic the human brain to effectively solve problems and log into applications to enter data which is then analyzed to provide the subsequent outcome. RPA is generally divided into three categories, these are;
1) Probots, the bots that are programmed to do simple repetitive tasks and follow rules to process data.
2) Knowbots, the bots that know everything and they keep on searching and storing information that might be desired by the user.
3) Chatbots, those bots that respond to the queries of the customers and work in real-time.
RPAs itself isn’t the part of any company or organization, in fact, they give access to the enterprise to find the appropriate solution without compromising over the infrastructure. The difference between RPAs and other programs lies in the fact that it can automatically manipulate data to generate results.
There are plenty of benefits of RPAs. Some of its common yet practical applications include customer care systems where RPAs not only manage all product-related queries but also make sure to upload and verify the relevant information. Swift processing with the precision of RPAs makes them a hot favorite in audit processing as they not only save time but also money that would have been spent on manual processing of data. Their efficiency makes them useful in handling financial services; from managing audits to insurance claims and transactions, RPAs can manage them all. Techno revolution has also impacted the healthcare sector just like all fields and in healthcare departments, RPAs help in managing patient’s profiles containing all the treatment and billing details. In human resource management, RPAs aid in managing time sheet and profile of the employees. Whereas, the supply chain management system utilizes RPAs to keep a record of their inventory and shipments.
RPA is not a single autonomous technology, in fact three systems are involved in the designing of RPA, these are; screen scrapping (usage of old application and data is collected from them to be displayed in modernized systems), work flow automation (helps in enhancing speed and efficiency of the system to which its incorporated) and Artificial Intelligence (make up the basics of RPAs and do tasks which are required to be done by human mind). As it’s been stated that AI provides the basis for RPAs, then it’s very natural to get confused and believe that these two are related; however, that’s not the case.
RPA is not a sub-branch of AI, they both function autonomously and Artificial Intelligence only inspires the design of RPA. Another key difference between the two is that AIs are supposed to surpass human intelligence and learn from data, whereas the only functioning in which the RPAs excel is replicating the data.
RPAs stick to structural inputs and management accountancy and audits whereas Artificial intelligence tends to carry out more complex tasks. AI learn from the problems and reduce human workload. Both RPA and AI combine will offer complete autonomy and the process will be termed as Artificial Continuum.
Recently I came across an article which describes about Robotic process automation and its benefits in detail. I hope you will like that too. You can check that through this guide,
